
Macaroni & Cheese with Broccoli
Whole wheat mac & cheese with broccoli gives you all the cheesy comfort you crave, with added nutrients and fiber to make it a smarter, more balanced choice. It’s a kid-friendly classic that grown-ups can feel great about too.

- 1 Large Cooking Pot
Ingredients
- 2 Cups Whole-Wheat Elbow Macaroni Uncooked
- 3 Tbsp Flour
- 2 Cups Non-Fat or 1% Milk
- 2 Cups Low-Fat Cheddar Cheese Shredded
- 1/2 Tsp Pepper
- 2 Cups Broccoli Chopped and Cooked
Instructions
- Cook 2 cups of whole-wheat elbow macaroni according to package directions.2 Cups Whole-Wheat Elbow Macaroni
- Drain and return to pot.
- Sprinkle 3 Tbsp of flour over the macaroni and stir thoroughly to coat.3 Tbsp Flour
- Over medium heat, slowly stir in 2 cups of non-fat or 1% milk.2 Cups Non-Fat or 1% Milk
- Add 2 cups of shredded low-fat cheddar cheese and 1/2tsp pepper.2 Cups Low-Fat Cheddar Cheese, 1/2 Tsp Pepper
- Stir continuously over medium heat until the milk and cheese thicken into a creamy sauce. Approximately 7 to 10 minutes.
- Stir in 2 cups of chopped, cooked broccoli.2 Cups Broccoli
- Serve.
